I DON’T GIVE A FUCK BUT I DO HAVE STYLE chair is perfectly imperfect and slightly arrogant.

It seems to communicate with confidence, even when it knows it has it flaws, the chair sophistically transforms it into to an authentic character.

The piece I DON’T GIVE A FUCK BUT I DO HAVE STYLE is asymmetrical and erratic on all sides, still it is quite imperceptible at first glance.

In fact, all designing lines of this piece run uneven and irregular, yet it is subtly done. The viewers will not instantly realize which are alike and which are not. Lines that seem to run similar, are essentially unevenly and vice versa.

The work seems the play with the spectator’s mind.

The sharp armrests are dissimilar as well as the side profiles.

One side with the short armrest has a sharp lightning flash while the side with a larger protruding armrest, only has a subtle diagonal line to ensure the right balance.

The backrest is designed relatively low to make the chair appear wider and to give it associatively more steadiness and self-assurance.

The design exudes calmness, dignity, and sophistication but remains rebellious. It unites refinement with rawness, charm with arrogance, sharpness with softness, and perfection with imperfection.

Weld spots of the steel have been deliberately kept visible to show its history, in line with the Japanese Wabi-Sabi teaching. Objects with a visible history have more value.

The creation process is still visible and cherished, proving the handwork. As a contrast a high gloss lacquer has been applied. Rough steel and sharpness mixed with soft light coloured velvet upholstery.

Essentially the chairs are quite imperfect nevertheless the result feels undividedly perfect.

Zooming in one would see all flaws, points of improvement and imperfections, while from a distance one sees the beauty - in life - and perceives is as relatively perfect.

The I DON’T GIVE A FUCK, BUT I DO HAVE STYLE chairs are like a today’s Yves Saint Laurent cashmere sweater with deliberately designed holes of wear in it.

At the same time these profound ‘arrogant' chairs could have been used in a movie set interior of American Gigolo (1980) or Miami Vice.
